Indoor in Owensboro
The SportsTutor will offer an indoor Futsal league this winter at its facility on the corner
of Grimes Ave. and Alsop Lane in Owensboro, KY. The 5-a-side games will be played on turfed futsal courts in
the 9500 square foot facility. Futsal is the only indoor soccer game officially recognized by FIFA and US Soccer.
This game is a very important component of skill development. Since futsal is played with a low bounce ball
and without walls, players are forced to play very quickly thus developing their speed of play for the outdoor game.

How and Why?
The SportsTutor came about after years of watching, playing, coaching, and refereeing sports at all
levels.
I noticed that players at higher competitive levels often lacked the fundamental technical skill for a particular sport.
Although many athletes achieved success, it appeared they lacked in execution and understanding. They survived
on pure athletic ability. At youth recreational levels, I watch coaches, parents, and leagues put such an emphasis on
winning that individual player development becomes sacrificed for team strategy.
The SportsTutor strives to fill the gap-to give our young athletes the necessary training and skill
to develop without burdening them with winning. The program allows the more experienced athletes to refine their skills
and gain an understanding of how to implement them in a competitive situation.
